ENGABO DISPLAY

This type design project investigates how type design can act as a tool for cultural preservation. Inspired by the battle shield of the Buganda Kingdom, I explore how its forms and symbolic language can be translated into a contemporary display typeface.
Through research, analysis, and design, I developed a typeface that bridges the gap between cultural heritage and modern design. This work reflects my interest in using typography not just as a visual system, but as a medium for storytelling, identity, and cultural continuity.
